  6. I have purchased some additional fonts and uploaded them to my flash drive. I got it to work and I embroidered an A on a piece of fabric. But it is to small. How can I change the size. I can change the size on the fonts already on my Brother SE600. But I can't figure out how to change it with my downloaded fonts?
  7. Monogram pillow: a tutorial A pillow with an embroidered monogram is a home textile classic. It makes a wonderful wedding, jubilee, christening or no occasion gift. Pillows are wonderful for machine embroidery beginners who want to learn the machine embroidery basics and practice to acquire the necessary skills. This is a brief guide into making the embroidered monogram pillows. Monogram pillow. Materials Fabric Zipper Braided cording with lip Machine embroidery design Cutaway or tearaway adhesive stabilizer Water-soluble stabilizer (optional) Upper thread Underthread Monogram pillow. Cutting For a pillow size 40x40 cm cut two squares of side 43 cm. I used non-stretchy upholstery fabric, dense but with a pronounced twill weave. Before you start working, you should finish the edges of this fabric with the serger, in order to prevent fraying. Monogram pillow. Embroidery Adhere the stabilizer to the wrong side of the fabric. Find the center of each side and draw the crosshairs. Their point of intersection will mark the center of your future embroidery. Hoop your fabric. Attach the hoop to the machine and cover it with a layer of thin water-soluble film (in case the weave of the fabric is a pronounced one). Select the basting stitch and stitch the water-soluble stabilizer to the fabric. Hit the start button and embroider your design. You may pick a sole-colored or a multi-colored one or embroider a multi-colored design without changing the upper thread color. Some embroidery/sewing and embroidery machines have an option of monochromatic embroidery. Peruse the manual that comes with your equipment to use its capabilities to the fullest. Having finished the embroidery, remove the stabilizer leftovers. Monogram pillow. Cording Round the edges of your pillow a bit. Stitch the cording to the right side of your pillow, along the edges. To attach the cording at the corners, make small incisions so that it lays more easily. Stitch it with a special cording foot or a zipper foot. 10. Hi all! I'm a beginner, literally just purchased my first machine (Brother PE-770). I am literally wanting to hear about all of the ins and outs and secrets that you're willing to give! I will probably mainly use the machine for monograms and such for myself, daughter, and other family members until I get used to it to be able to start an in-home business. Where do you find monograms to use? And how to create them as well? Every tutorial I see just starts with the design/monogram already being on the flash drive. Again, ANY information would be great. Thanks everybody in advance!

  12. Original text by: Marina Belova One of these days Lubov Tabunidze puzzled me with her conclusions on the subject of different ways of making of 3D machine embroidery by using From what I've read on the topic in the open sources, I've learned that there seem to be at least 3 different methods of making 3D embroidery design, depending on your preferences. I mean the amount of understitching: The one I described, where there was a large amount of it (edges + zig-zag stitch). Along the edges only. And without any understitching at all. In one source I found a clear explanation on why the second method is the best — because the understitching flattens the 3D Foam and the upper layer of stitches, which is very thick, is not as smooth as you would want it to be. Of course, I'd like to try all of these methods myself, to see with my own eyes, if there is the difference. I embroidered a monogram using a large amount of understitching (on the right) and with minimum amount of it along the edges (on the left): I swept aside the method without understitching for I had found it futile. In the process of embroidering a monogram with minimum understitching: And this is a monogram with a lot of understitching: Here is the end result of the embroidery design: It turned out that a monogram with zig-zag understitching is more flat than the one done with common stitch. Satin columns don't look smooth on zig-zag understitching, the thread begins to twist, and that is very conspicuous and very ugly. As for the 3D Puff perforation, these two techniques are the same — in either case you should make a finish and remove the Puff leftovers. This given the fact that there is quite a task to find a 3D Puff of the same color as the thread: I've only seen white and black on the market. Such are my observations on the technique nowadays.
