New 'Hatch' User and Embroidery Novice asks ...

Hi and greeting to the users of this forum,

I am a retired 'IT-Guy' / (in)experienced embroiderer and love being at the cutting-edge of technology., I have a Janome MC550E LE machine and am keen to make good headway with my hobby.

I have been using InkScaoe/InkStitch in combination with Janome's Artistic Digitizer (Jr.) and, having compared the (similar) capabilities of Janome & Wilcom products, have decided to  try Wilcom's 'Hatch', even though Janome's Photo-Stitch seems to be marginally superior.

My main purpose of posting here, is to gather some comments, opinions and advice from you experienced Embroiderers. I would love to hear any of you comments, 'Tips and Tricks' that will be worth observing when I Install (already downloaded & ready-to-go) and fire up the software.
