Creating in PE Design

I am new to PE Design.  I am wanting to design an in the hoop mug rug for my church.  I am looking for a tutorial on how to set up all the different aspects ie placement stitches, tacking stitches, seams, etc that make up the whole design.  I have found how to do the applique and fill stitches so now I just need to learn the rest of the process. i tried opening an already designed file and deleting items but it didnt work.   Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Kim, I don't know if this will be of help to you as you'd probably have to buy one of the designs to get the instructions, but the San Francisco Stitch co. has a number of mug rug designs with full instructions.  I've purchased a number of their designs and they have all been first class.
