Victoria511 0
Hi community, I’m a complete novice but I would like to stitch some designs onto vest tops, T-shirt and jumpers and sell them for charity. I’ve attached the style of design that I would like to create. I’d like these designs will be ~5-10cm in length & 2-5 cm in width. Could you please recommend a machine for a total beginner? (Ideally a machine that allows you to upload you own designs and one where you don’t need to change the threads if the design were to consist of two or 2 colours). Thanks a lot in advance! diver361 4,642
The art contains many small details. The size that you indicated to make quality is not realistic. You should understand that machine embroidery is not printing. The minimum stitch size is 1.1-1.3 mm. Less than this size, the stitch may tear the fabric or be invisible. 1 1 Quote Link to post
still_c 2
I have a question of a complete newbie, so I'm sorry if it is stupid. I wanna try embroidery and I heard that serger machines can be used for it. I have Juki machine and I don't understand if it can be used. Anyway thanks. 1 Quote Link to post

diver361 4,642
This is not embroidery machine - this is home overlock. 1 Quote Link to post
still_c 2
Ok, thank you for making it clear. I got confused some websites is written "good for embroidery". So I thought there is no need to buy a new machine. 1 Quote Link to post
diver361 4,642
Perhaps they had the idea to create full-fledged products. For example, to sew pillows or dresses. This overlock definitely doesn't have an embroidery unit. 1 Quote Link to post
