Outputting to PDF

Hi there!  I'm trying to find embroidery software that can output a design to PDF but in vector format and not as a rendered image.  I won't go into unnecessary detail but I need to be able to open the PDF as vector in Adobe Illustrator so that the embroidery design can be accessed and edited.  I know this is an unusual requirement but it is essential to workflow of the company I work with.  The Wilcom software that we're currently using has been retired and replaced with an online only version that doesn't offer this capability.  I've used Brother software in the past that could manage it and I'm currently evaluating Brother PE-Design Plus2 to see if it is able to but the trial version doesn't offer the ability to print (I usually print to PDF to generate the file I need).  

So the question I have is does anybody use Brother PE-Design Plus2 and do you know whether it outputs vector?
