Decreasing Density

Good Day

I'm new to this forum and hoping someone can help me out.  I have an older Husqvarna Viking Embroidery Extra software, but I'm sure my question can still apply.  I want to be able to decrease the density in designs that I'd like to use thicker (wool) thread to stitch out.  I know if I try to stitch out the designs as they are, it won't work.  If I can decrease the number of stitches without changing the design itself it would make my day!
