There are many effects which can be applied to sateen having given it additional visual appeal. The set of opportunities depends on your software. For example, usual sateen as all know looks so:

And possible effects for it such:

Impressive filling (pattern) – application of breakdown of a tatami.

Laying by a tile (carved pattern, creative pattern) – sateen is filled in with pattern figures. These figures are as in library, also they can be created and most.

Pattern filling (motive, macros, program stitch) – laying along a contour of repeating groups of motives chosen from library or created independently. For them usually there is an opportunity to set the size of the 1st group and quantity of ranks which keep within a contour (on this example of the 3rd row fit into a contour form).

Effect of fragmentary edge (random, jagged edge, feathering) – creation of rough edge at sateen with one or from 2 parties. In the different software options are possible: stitches or are extended in outer side, or cleaned in a contour. The amount of this lengthening/shortening is measured or in millimeters, or it is specified in a percentage ratio from stitch length.

This opportunity to make rough edge is used in the software for automatic creation of effect of wool. For example, Stitch Era Liberty does it so:

Density variation (gradient, variable density, random density. density profile) – density change on set in the editor and to the algorithm chosen by the user along a contour. In some cases, it is possible to set change of density independently.

Some editors give the chance to users to set number of repetitions for each stitch of sateen. As each stitch of sateen repeats, it demands serious reduction of density. On the screen of the computer of it it isn't visible, and here in an embroidery the difference between one repetition or several is observed.

Radial filling (radial fill) – interesting opportunity to create stitches going from the center without drawing a ring. The form for this filling can be any. Gives the chance to operate easily and all stitches and filling type go the center, from where.

Following by stitches to a contour form (contour stitch, piping, curved filling) – the calculation of usual stitches lengthways a contour form. Very usable piece. Is practically in all editors.
