Computerized Embroidery with Conductive Threads

Hi everyone,

We are a university research laboratory and are trying to develop new wearable devices using machine embroidery. We have been looking to buy a system that can embroider conductive metallic wires such as the ones from ZSK, but they are ridiculously expensive, somewhere in the range of 60k USD. IS there a system that you can recommend that can embroider silver or other conductive threads ?

Hi Guider

In wearable technology, there is a lot of stress in the yarns. Not only when they are embroidered but also when they are worn. Thus it is imperative that the embroidery need a 100% fail save approach.  Further, it also has to bear a lot stress during its washing cyce.

I tried many times with a normal embroidery machine but to get it right 100% of the time is very difficult. There are many options available on cunductive yarn. We can successfully do it on home furnishing items but on the garment a lot more needs to be taken care off. ZSK however has a mastery over this. It is expensive option but it is currently only option which is successfully delivering results.

What embroidery machine do you recommend?  Embroidery only- no sewing.
