This is our first time to embroider on 100% silk camp shirts and would like any tips on the best way to do it.  Ball or sharp needle?  Backing type?  etc.

Thanks!

What is your approx stitch count - Is it dense and are there satin stitches?

Approx 5000 stitches, not too dense, all satin stiches

Our diagonal no show nylon mesh w a tearaway behind it

Or

We make a product called Cloud Cover Stitch - see same page

It was originally developed to arrest any fraying on silks and satins

Fuse it on @ 300F w a press cloth

It is the exact opposite of a stabilizer as there is stretch in all directions - so it will not adversely affect drapablity or hand

You will then be able to get by w a 1.8- 2 oz tearaway

We will of course send samples
