Can I fix somehow this problem? 

Have tightened all the screws,  tried everything could have thought of.

Really desperate.

    Thank you for answering me. Yes, all is the same, and happens with the hoops of all sizes, it just does no longer recognizes them. Even mechanics don't know what that could be, advice to take contact with Brother manufacturer in Germany. 

    It's Brother PR 655 we are talking about.
