I think its really a tough machine to understand. Still I will try to research some more on this machine, its always good to know more and more of emb machine, right?

I can understand your frustration. Best thing is to ask a tech for mechanical issues, and ask him loads of questions. 

Did you find how you can get your designs in the machine? Are you planing to use USB or you require some  software solution? There aren't many options for transfering directly to such older Brothers. 

The low-cost option is Aps-Ethos software, which was not cheap but it is quite less than Pulse/Wilcom. 

It did not work that well for me. Alex you have the machine manual? It's sometimes terribly written and sometimes, it's impossible to even understand. By the way Good luck!
