Im fairly new at this digitizing so this is probably a pretty basic question, but when i use satin stitches and there is a segment next to another one there is a gap between the two sections. im not sure how to get rid of the gaps. ive tried overlapping the segments but that doesn't always help. is there a trick in how to digitize the segments so they run together??? Help!!!

Would anyone have any ideas on how to digitize a fill for 1 inch lettering on a cap? The finished font looks like a ribbed corduroy. I don't know how else to describe it. The stitch angle goes just one way and there are slim sections of satin stitches, separated by a slim space in between them, which is what gives it the look of a ribbed corduroy. I have tried everything I can think of to get that look but have struck out so far. Any ideas?

And here I look at it and I am surprised, why in general it was necessary to create such effect, after all to make it by hands is simple, and the main thing operating properties of each object it is possible manually, without purchase of any expansions. But who writes about it when sells plug-ins to editors? Unambiguously, money was spent in vain Now I will pass to the professional editor of embroidery of Tajima DGML by Pulse who has similar effect of imitation of wool in the arsenal. Information of opportunities of this editor of the last version is kindly provided to me by Denis from Camart. At creation of effect of Fur in Tajima it is possible to operate all usual parameters of contours, and not just density, shortening, type of filling and gradation of roughness of edges. Here is possible all: and frameworks to put and choose edge type (zigzag, square, chiseled, etc.), and to adjust gradient density and much that else. In Tajima, in general, there is a mass of settings with which it is possible to be played: But most of all I was struck not by these important in work, but already habitual, and that it is possible to operate by what way the woolen effect will be created. For this purpose developers thought up here such control which stacks stitches not as in usual sateen, but made on other trajectory in sateen: At "None" choice - usual sateen with fragmentary edge, same, as well as in Stitch Era will be embroidered: At a choice of "Automatic" such step design will turn out here: Thus each stitch of sateen becomes not direct, but broken into very flat zigzags. I even would tell that it is used instead of one stitch of motives very similar to a stem stitch (stem stitch), and the stitch following it remains to straight lines. Thus the user can regulate length of this motive/zigzag (zigzag range) and distance between zigzags (zigzag random range). And the quantity located in length of a contour of zigzags will be counted by already editor. At "Number" choice the user has an opportunity still, to regulate quantity of zigzags which he wants to receive on each stitch. On the picture below a zigzag only 2-a: And here them already 4: I embroidered contours made by Denis. One photo lower at the left effect of Fur with one zigzag on a stitch, at the left – with four: Naturally, they differ from made me in Stitch Era of simple effect of Fur. And the most important, all parameters here can be operated and manipulated easily that personally for me it is very important. Nevertheless, Tajima gives to the users ample opportunities. At due selection by a trial and error method of density, type and zigzag length, can be excellent imitation of wool will turn out. And in your editor is though any opportunity automatically to imitate wool?

I will continue a subject of imitation of wool and feathers in machine embroidery manually and I will show today as it is possible to reach, according to the developers, similar effect in an automatic mode, in those editors of embroidery in whom there is such an effect or filling – Fur. Once again I will repeat, I know while only 2 editors in whom it can be realized. It is Tajima by Pulse 14 Maestro and Stitch Era Liberty Plus (if it was bought (Expansion pack) add-on for reproduction of this effect). First I will sort the simple option, both on settings, and by opportunities, what can make Stitch Era. Why this option is simple? Only because doesn't allow the user almost any opportunities to operate that, that turns out. Type of a stitch to which is applicable this effect – satin (smooth) or sateen with filling. Also it doesn't matter, by what way the object on two points (Column) or a simple contour (Satin Path, Fusion Fill) is digitized. After a choice any of led round the tape by me with all possible settings for this effect appears on the picture above tools. I chose Fur Fill Pattern, having specified desirable texture (a violet square): Now it is possible to draw a contour in which it is planned to apply desirable effect of imitation of wool. For example, such: Further it is necessary to specify the desirable directions of stitches (Stitch Direction). I chose only two directions for the experiments: Further I choose the Effect Line tool and I draw with its help cross lines, as though dividing them object into sections, but the object thus remains whole: After I divided object, I press Enter and I receive such picture: If to pass from the 3D mode into a standard mode of display of stitches, it is visible what represent these sections: Naturally, all sections have the identical direction of stitches that helps them "to get" well each other, without demanding from the user of careful selection of these directions. Sections, in essence - the usual sateen, which one edge equal other edge of object also coincides with drawn Effect line the line (red arrows), other edge of object the rough (Jagged Edge). Roughness of edge can be regulated in a percentage ratio. I can regulate also from what party or from both the edge won't be equal: But even if I will choose roughness from 2 parties, it won't affect in any way an internal structure of sections. One edge of internal sections always will be a straight line; forms of edges of external sections will change only: I can't make with sections practically anything, besides, that to specify their color: to make them one-color instead of the color: I can't change an entry point and an exit, to change density of each section separately. I can't apply to them frameworks any at all (strengthening). Besides, I can't operate sequence of embroidery even if I have in design one more same color. Full lack of will and dependence on the software! But as though, that was, I made here such simple animal and embroidered it: Continue this theme in next Blog
