I LOVE embroidery !!!! I recently bought a second hand Brother PE770 machine from online. I think the 5x7 hoop must be replaced because most of the time the front slot of the hoop does not click in the arm rightly. I have also tried other sized hoops. they go in and out of the machine perfectly. A local dealer of Brother quoted me 97 USD. I want opinion from from people who do embroidery...do I invest in Brother hoop or try some generic brand, is there a better hoop? I saw Magna and Snap Hoops, please give me suggestions. Thanks!!

I had the same machine and its hoop was quite tight to fit when I first started using. I got an emery board and then rubbed it around the metal of arch a few times and sprayed it with the silicone spray, the problem was solved.

Now regarding you buying question, my answer is i wouldnt prefer buying any generic hoop. You must look at the Brother website and purchase the hoop from them directly . 

Magna hoops aren't the correct answer to your problem, because they sit within your hoop - they do not replace it. 

The snap hoops are a bit costly than brother replacement hoops, but in think would be a huge improvement.

Hi stitchlady, I was wondering how difficult it is to have such hoop problem - i think you must buy the original ones from brother.

Now her problem is that which hoop to pick and what actually she should do about it..

YES, that would be the best way to sort out this problem, but also try my idea that I suggested you in the beginning.
