  8. My wife and I have had a Brother PE770 for a year or so and have been able to resolve most issues by running down the checklist (e.g. rethread, reset bobbin, clean bobbin area, etc), but this one has us stumped. All of a sudden the upper thread is stitching out very loose, with big open loose loops on the bottom and virtually no bobbin thread on the bottom at all. See pictures of what's happening here: We've made no changes in how we embroider at all - standard upper and bobbin thread we always use, same fabric, same fonts, etc. This just started happening out of nowhere. It even "fixed" itself at one point in the middle of a pattern where it had been stitching out loose, only to go back to stitching loosely. We've seen some posts online saying the upper thread tension is loose and we should increase the tension through the digital settings, but (i) we've tried that and it didn't work and (ii) we've never fiddled with those settings so it shouldn't all of a sudden need that digital adjustment. We are a bit desperate and would love any help or tips!

  13. How hair of animals and feathers of birds machine embroidery designs is imitated in editors of embroidery so that they looked nationalistically? In fact, there are 2 ways with which it’s possible to go in attempts to reach the necessary result: 1. To create all objects manually, using traditional methods of a digitizing. 2. To use the automatic effects, similar "Fur" which allow, from the point of view of developers, quickly and effectively to make that becomes hands. Opportunity to apply this effect is far not in all embroidery software editors. It is in Tajima DGML by Pulse of 14 versions and in my Stitch Era Liberty Plus. I am more while anywhere anything similar didn't meet. But I after all not saw everything the editor so, quite probably, somewhere else such "the fast button" too exists. But before using automatic opportunities, I believe that it is worth paying close attention and to deal with how wool is created in manually mode. And to start something doing in the computer, in my opinion, it is necessary from far away, having addressed to bases – to hand embroidery. It’s lower than two most excellent examples of hand embroidery from the book A-Z of Thread Painting: And it already diagrams to them with division into sections and the ornamented direction of a stitch which correspond to the real direction of growth of wool and feathers: A method which authors of this book suggest to use is the most traditional - a combination of a long and short stitch with careful selection of mixed thread colors: Something similar at manually input of contours also is required to be repeated in the machine embroidery editor . Only it will be necessary to be played a little more with settings of parameters – density, stitch length, and also to apply still some effects which will help to mix up to colors of an embroidery, type of fragmentary edge (jagged edge) or will help to set the direction of natural growth of wool – tatami filling on the 1st or 2nd curves. That’s, in the course of digitizing it will be necessary to try to create something similar: Process of creation of such objects is simple and quite realize in any of editors of machine embroidery, after all its creation requires only a standard tool kit: sateen (satin stitch), tatami, simple stitch. It will be long and dreary process. But, it for 100% pays off that all parameters can be supervised thus: both density of layers, and stitch lengths (that is the extremely important for high-quality mixing of colors of threads), and a form of edge of object, and degree of its roughness, and the sizes of elements and the directions of stitches in them. That you won't tell about automatic methods about which I will tell later.
  14. Hi all, I am new to this community. I have a problem with my Brother PR620 with the thread take up lever getting stuck in a downward position, a whining sound and a motor lock message. Has anyone come across this problem before? Is there a simple solution or do I have to send my machine to a service centre? I am based in the Seychelles and the nearest service centre is in the UAE or South Africa. I have uploaded a video. If anyone could help I would be very grateful. 15. Hi everyone, We are a university research laboratory and are trying to develop new wearable devices using machine embroidery. We have been looking to buy a system that can embroider conductive metallic wires such as the ones from ZSK, but they are ridiculously expensive, somewhere in the range of 60k USD. IS there a system that you can recommend that can embroider silver or other conductive threads ? Best Guider

  18. Hello, we have been screen printing for 5 years and are getting a single head embroidery machine in December. I spent the first 3 years of our screen printing experience testing different inks, mesh counts, etc and while it was great I also wasted a lot of money on the wrong supplies. For our embarkment in the embroidery world I would like to minimize the amount of wasted dollars and thought I would ask here what everyone suggests as far as brands and materials. We will be doing mostly hats and polos as that is what we currently outsource the most of but I am sure there will be other stuff that comes our way. I'm looking to start purchasing supplies over the next few weeks while we work through the purchase process of the machine. What does everyone suggest for threads and needles? I know MADEIRA is the most popular for thread but what is the difference between PolyNeon and Rayon? My apparel supplier (Alpha) also sells Triumph needles but I dont know what the difference between Titanium/Chrome and Universal/Ball Point is. What about backing? Primarily on structured hats, what does everyone suggest? These questions may be vague but I'm not sure where else to start than with the basics. Thanks!

  21. Dear Embroiderers, I have broken 2 needles now and machine kept asking something about upper thread. 2 needles. What could be wrong? Is the machine not accepting the thread? I am using a cotton thread with a satin finish. I was watching the thread go through and noticed the thread is not jamming at the spool of thread but somewhere inside the machinery (above the needle)- I hope you get what i mean. will be grateful for your advise on this.
