My wife and I have had a Brother PE770 for a year or so and have been able to resolve most issues by running down the checklist (e.g. rethread, reset bobbin, clean bobbin area, etc), but this one has us stumped. All of a sudden the upper thread is stitching out very loose, with big open loose loops on the bottom and virtually no bobbin thread on the bottom at all. See pictures of what's happening here: We've made no changes in how we embroider at all - standard upper and bobbin thread we always use, same fabric, same fonts, etc. This just started happening out of nowhere. It even "fixed" itself at one point in the middle of a pattern where it had been stitching out loose, only to go back to stitching loosely. We've seen some posts online saying the upper thread tension is loose and we should increase the tension through the digital settings, but (i) we've tried that and it didn't work and (ii) we've never fiddled with those settings so it shouldn't all of a sudden need that digital adjustment. We are a bit desperate and would love any help or tips!

So recently I have encountered a problem with my machine. It started getting a bit loud and the recognition from my own digitised designs started to go bad and my embroidery looks bad. Straight satin stitches have random cuts don’t for consistent tension when looking at the back (sometimes more bobbin and sometimes less). I’ve tried fixing the tension and when doing a test run it seems to be ok and consistent but when I do my own designs it goes bad even though I’ve done these designs many times and there was never an issue. I changed my needle out, cleaned the machine and I don’t know what else I could do. My machine just started acting up and I would appreciate some help if anyone encountered this issue yet.

Hi there! I apologize if I'm repeating but I'm just not sure what I should be searching for in the forums. I'm new to embroidery. All of the preprogrammed items looked great. Once I started trying to use the Brother PE software, this is all I get from them. Is looks like the bobbin thread is coming up? Not my top thread. I'm just not sure what is happened. No matter what fabric I put in there or the setting for fabric, it looks like this. I googled and adjusted the thread tension. I'm just not sure what I'm doing wrong. The SVG I made is pretty simple. Not too many points. The running stitch seems to fine. It's just the fill? I've been stepping through the manual but just think I must be missing something obvious. Is there anything anyone can point me to to figure out what I'm doing wrong? Thanks so much for any help. EDIT - This is the top of this and I'm just embroidering on backing sheets because I've gone through this 6-7 times now. Running out of spots on test fabric. Will get more test fabric tomorrow. monster-2.pes

Embroidery design not realigning after bobbin change
Ajaston posted a topic in Questions and Answers
Hi, i have this annoying issue with my brother v3. when embroiding a big design that requires a bobbin change during it comes out of allign with the pattern when restarting. So after changing the bobbin and starting again the needle will be stitching over areas it shouldnt an missing out areas it should. So would be a few mms above or below were it should be stitching. ive tried turning it off an on an letting it reallign but it just starts at the same place again. Ive tried restarting the design an moving it futher down to make the difference up but still hasnt worked any ideas what the issue is anyone? -
Hi. I'm new to embroidery and I've been lurking here for a while and picking up tips and currently just getting familiar with my new Brother M280D. Its been working fine but suddenly and without any interference from me, its started to tangle the upper thread under the footplate cover. I havnt adjusted the material or the tension or thread. It makes a banging noise then starts squealing and the frame stops and carries on sewing until I shut it down. I have to cut away the material to get the piece back out of the machine and then unscrew the plate to clear out the mess underneath. I'm left with a huge tangle of upper thread tangled around the feed dogs and bobbin case. When I start embroidering, the the thread will constantly break and then after a few seconds of sewing it'll jam up. I've changed the bobbin, made sure bobbin and upper thread are threaded correctly and cleaned out the bobbin case. Same material, same needle and same tension. I'm completely at a loss as to why this is happening and why it would suddenly happen. I literally came back the next day and started where I left off and it started to happen. Anyone have any ideas?

I have a Brother 4000D embroidery machine that has just been a pain. I finally got it to not break threads and so now it will not grab the bobbin thread when I change colors because it is cutting the embroidery thread too short. Has anyone had this issue? My dealer just lost their repair guy and is training another.

Pleeeease help! Bobbin runs out in middle of project and I follow instructions and change the bobbin and when I go back to embroider, the needle is way off from where I stopped! Even when I back up the stitches, they aren’t even in the same place on the pattern! Basically What’s on the screen is in a different place than on my actual material!!

I’m brand new to this and cannot seem to get the thread to display correctly so hoping this group can help! It does embroider the design, but it seems to be pulling the bobbin thread and not the upper thread. You can see the butterfly design I did tonight. The upper thread is orange and you can see very little of it. Any ideas why why this is happening or how I can fix it?

I am very new to embroidery. I've had my embroidery machine about 10 days. The first order I got was for 6 puffy vests, each with the company logo and the employee name. They are a light weight nylon fabric with polyfill. I've got the logo and company name worked out. But am having trouble with the individual names. The font I'm using is Baskerville. The letters are 14mm. I've tried several combinations of underlay and I've checked and set my tension on both bobbin and needle. I've also tried removing the underlay and adding my own. These are the names: Alisa Deliah Marie Paulette Tony I'm having particular problems with the T and the M. I'm attaching a photo so you can see what I'm talking about. Th start of the T and the inside loop of the T are particularly bad, with lots of underlay showing through. There are also a few places on the M that are and issue and the end of the y. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

I have an issue I've been facing for quite some time now. Occasionally, my needle misses the bobbin and causes me to have to re-thread the needle. This happens frequently, for example, I could be embroidering 1 color or multiple colors and when the machine cuts and moves to the next spot, it starts, but misses the bobbin and causes me to have to re-thread the needle. This is quite a nuisance especially when there's 300 shirts to run and it does it on every one! Sometimes the same spot, sometimes different spots. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I am struggling to know that why bobbin threads comes up in the top while embroidering? I got MC9900. Last week, I visited to the shop where I talk about my threading problems. She told me that it is the issue with threading from the top not with the issue of bobbin itself. After her advice, I am enjoying my embroidery trouble free but today it again started on the halfway through a design. As far as I am concern, I am threading the machine every time. Is that what am I doing wrong? White is coming from my front and it is not looking bad on this section. Then, I end my color block. Before starting with new color, I replace my needle with new one and also put bobbin of Madeira under the bobbin holder. I re-threaded the top section as normal but the problem is same occurring. It is not going back side of my fabric.

I am trying to embroider a company logo on zippered hoodie jackets. Stitch count is 12400 are of stitching is 4" x 3". Mainly satin lettering with a small 1" square in corner. I have tried with a mesh cut away but bobbin thread is pulling up thru design. I have one jacket now that is for getting this set up correctly. I have cleaned machine, oiled, 3 different bobbins. Adjusted tensions on bobbin and needles... tried everything. I have tried mesh on back with solvy on front.. it still looks awful.. Could someone please give me some input. Thank you in advance for any wise wisdom you wish to pass on!
