Embroidery technique sewing experience

Need some help please. When using a placement chart for a left-chest logo, are the measurements for the center of the item or the top of the embroidery design?

I am digitizing a West Digitizing that is close to 18 inches wide by 16 inches high. Digitizing the whole thing, then break it down into top and bottom files the lower being what I would stitch out first, making the lower section about 12 in and the upper about 6 in, I will put markers in place. My problem is lining the top with the lower in the frame, getting the horizontal and even the vertical should be no problem as that can be achieves by moving the head, but the problem I can visualize is getting them horizontal without having to contlnually having to rehoop it as I am sure this cannot do the material any good. I'm not sure if I have explained this very well…

What type of needle and embroidery thread is used. Having trouble with the thread bunching up. Any info would be great, trying something new!

I just received an order for a graduating class for full zip hooded sweatshirts. the order calls for 3 separate embroidery sites, including the hood binder. my question is this: they asked what is the proper way to embroidery "Class of 2009" on the hood - should it face front so that you can read the embroidery when the hood is on OR facing backwards so that the embroidery can be read when the hood is down. The embroidery will be placed on the front edge of the hoodie and centered. Is there a right or wrong way?

I was trying to monogram heavy canvas totes (the LL Bean variety) and they kept falling off the hoop. How do you successful monogrammed, keep those totes on the hoops--or what kind of hoops do you use.

I have a single head Tajima 1501 embroidery machine that I have been trying to adjust the tension on each needle to be close to the same for all. I have some needles that are butter smooth and constant, while others are close to the same value but very jerky. Then others are almost nonadjustable all together. I have 1 needle with no tension on any adjuster but still has a tension reading of 120 to 135. I need some advice as to what may be going on with some of my tensioners. I have traced all the spools and they are threaded right. Do you oil any of the parts on the path to the needle? I am not having any problems with sew outs but just want to make quality as good as p…

Does anyone have a good location for embroidery designs on sweatpants (adult & youth)? The chart I have says it should be at crotch sleeve, but that seems awfully low. It is about a 4" embroidery design. Thanks for you help.

Hi everyone, I am very confused. Last week technician came to service our embroidery machine which is a commercial one, its a Texmac 1501 machine. It had developed some issues in bobbin and tension settings. The previous owner had bought at least one starter pack, Madeira 1000M rayon viscose thread and we've been sewing using it. He recommended to stop using rayon because it creates havoc over the tension on the machine. Additionally, these spools aren't behaving correctly on my machine, causing thread breaks when the thread unwinds from the bottom of the cone. However, the colors are beautiful!! Hi everybody! I've never made embroidery on hats and caps and I need your advise. Which hats/caps are better for embroidery? On which ones embroidery will look better? I mean structured or unstructured? 5- or 6panels?
