Hi, I want to buy some of your embroidery designs. I couldn't find the kind of embroidery thread that I use. I use "Embroidery Machine Treads, TAO", it is polyester. As I guess you know about threads, could you tell me what kind of tread from your list is similar to the embroidery thread that I have? Thanks in advance for your help.

A while back someone posted that 40 weight thread is coincidentally .40 mm thick. I took this to be obviously incorrect. Not only is the measurement misleading the conclusion was arrived by laying a two pieces of 40 weight thread on a ruler and wa-la there you have it! The reason I questioned this other than the obvious kindergarten method of measuring was it seemed incorrect to me. So I contacted Ackermann to see if they had a more accurate measurement. The USA warehouse didn't have this information and referred me to Germany. Germany responded by giving me this information. Quote: Poly 40 weight thread is .24685 mm in thickness. Rayon is a little thinner. So now when…

After upgrading to Tajima Maestro in V.12 and doing the latest updates I am still having trouble with the way some thread colors are represented. We us the RA palette and the darker colors like Mahogany continue to be displayed in existing designs and new stitching as the default color, a light pink called Pink Cascade. We have tried to edit the thread chart and reinstall the database. No go. Still pink. We have custom colored the miscreant colors and tried to immediately use the new coloration. We saved the thread chart and rebooted. Nothing works. So what gives Pulse? What is the answer? I show my designs to my customers on the screen and they can't imagine that the pi…

We are relatively new to the business and I have my first mesh backpack to embroider. I'm concerned about the lack of material to sew to. I don't want to use cutaway because of the way it will look after it's been trimmed since you'll still be able to see the material through the mesh. Is it as easy as using tearaway? Is there a secret to mesh and if so what is it?

I'm having trouble with eliminating puckering on San Mar baby bib's. I've tried different weights tearaway, multiple sheets, etc. Also tried adhesive types. Was thinking about heat-away, but figured I'd ask the group in hopes of a quicker answer. Thanks in advance for your kind assistance.

We are doing big designs, we're setting up for the Irish Dance Dress market but doing spinoffs of the designs onto hoodies and sweats. Mainly using the 300 x 300 to 450x480 hoop sizes. The range of fabrics we are trying to set up for is rather large too, anything from woven to stretch knits and even silks and crystal organza. The celtic knotwork and similar open designs also tend to be quite gappy rather than a solid fill so there are many areas of backing left between stitches. For stretch fabrics (hoodies and sweats) we are currently using 2 crossed layers of a directional tearaway obtained from AJS (38g/m2) but it is far from perfect. There is too much stretch wh…

I have a friend who is a beginner stitcher as I am, but she insist that you do not need to stabilize quilted fabric. I told her you do need it so the design doesn't shift. She doesn't want to waste time attaching stabilizer by ironing on or sticky stabilizer. I think she is just lazy and don't really care how the backside looks after stitching. Can you answer this question for me. I sometime double when stitching lighter weight fabric such as knits and t-shirt fabric.

Some one advised me to find a digitizer which sews a sample on same material as the client's actual order will be sewn on. Digitizers... do you do that? Years ago we would sew on material just like or similar to the orders our clients had.... we could afford to as left chest designs could begin at $150. BUT we still had to edit if the client needed an edit. Our singlehead sewed differently than their machine (even today a singlehead (nomatter the brand)) will sew differently than a 6 or 12 or any other combo machine. I believe it does not matter what we sew here in our office... it ONLY matters what happens at our client's place. So for us to do a sewout is prett…

Does anyone have any suggestions as to why my thread looks loopy. I'm embroidering in-the-hoop candy cane holders and when I put the back on, the thread looks like it has loops in it. Am I using the wrong stabilizer? I'm using fleece for both sides of the candy cane and iron on stabilizer.
