  1. Hello community, I am a complete novice, but I have been doing lots of research, reading, watching tutorials and videos informing myself on embroidery machines. However, I cannot figure out which machine to buy. I know I would like it to have at least a 10" x 6" or 260 x 160 mm embroidery area, since I would be making relatively large designs on hoodies/sweatshirts. If anyone could let me know of an embroidery machine and it's corresponding (or compatible) software that would let me digitize my own designs, it would be very much appreciated. I'd be looking at a budget of about 1700 EUR or 1500 GBP. I was looking at the Brother Innovis 870SE, so if anyone …

Good day everyone. I am Marius from South Africa. I own a Ricoma RCM1202C embroidery machine. What is the correct rotary hook timing for this machine?

  6. Hi all, I'm new here and was looking for a little advice... We have just bought a brother Innovis 750E. We are trying out samples on baby clothing but have come across the following troubles. Apologies for all the points, I am new to this and if I explain it all I am hoping it leads to one issue! - Sometimes the bobbin thread underneath is all that shows on top but then we repeat the design further down on the fabric (baby vest) and it is perfect. - Large chunky font is no problem, but if we move to script writing the clothing gets sucked into the bottom and rips causing our machine to say we need to re-thread the needle with a big nest of thread unde…

  7. I'm getting problems with Brother Innovis 4000D making me to throw it! I took for tune-up they changed the bobbin holder, adjusted timing after which it worked good for a month or so. Then the same issue started again - it would stitch some stitches, and then miss bobbin thread for some stitches. I took it back to them and they adjusted something - then I tried adesign and it worked. I didn't work for a year and now need to do some patch work. It acted the same way again. Is the machine worn out now? Or its never going to work correctly again? Or is my dealer not fixing it properly? Can't afford a brand new machine, but also can't afford to spend loads of&am…

  8. I’m fairly new to machine embroidery but I was going great guns on a stitch out when I had to change the bobbin and then suddenly the bobbin thread was all coming out on top. I’ve replaced the bobbin and rethreaded the top thread but nothing is working.... Any advice would be most welcome

  9. Hi everyone - I'm new to embroidery. I did some running-stitch tests on a piece of leather, and I noticed that every single time the bottom stitch comes out nicely, while the topstitch looks like one straight line. What can I do to improve the quality? In the attached picture, the very fist and last running stitches are the "top stitch". The center stitching was when I turned the leather upside down and sewn it - so what you're seeing is the bottom-stitch. Thanks for the help!

I'm looking for service in the Indiana area. Maybe someone can help me understand what's going wrong with my machine. We have the MT1501 ricoma. Currently the issue is that every time the machine goes to trim, it breaks the thread. So the thread is pulled into the brush guard by the trimming hook, then the trimmer activates down below by the bobbin, but never trims properly. The hook holds onto the thread and it gets stuck in the brush guard, then the next time the needle goes to sew it jerks the fabric around and sews with a whole lot of tension from the thread being stuck up by the hook.. Thank you

Choosing an embroidery machine is important not only from a technical perspective but also as a considerable investment. And some times its turn out to be quite hectic and difficult to make the decision regrading which machine to buy and which one to left. My suggestion everyone is. While making the decision of buying you guys just need to straight your needs and requirements and what you want to do it in the future. If you are making an investment on this area first time then you should go with a little low as this is the first time for many and in future you can invest higher. Still not sure what machine to buy? These tips will help you purchase the right machine the fi…

  13. Need all the manuals for this machine. Wasn't given any. They said they were all online. Not such good news. They have to be out there somewhere. I will even pay for them!!!! Also am stuck on a page that says embroidery pause and I can't get out of it. So frustrating. Is there anyone out there that would walk me thru a few things and be my mentor? I wouldn't bug you to dead. I like to find my own answers.............but sometimes it just takes experience. Thanks so much!!!!

  14. Hi. I'm new to embroidery and I've been lurking here for a while and picking up tips and currently just getting familiar with my new Brother M280D. Its been working fine but suddenly and without any interference from me, its started to tangle the upper thread under the footplate cover. I havnt adjusted the material or the tension or thread. It makes a banging noise then starts squealing and the frame stops and carries on sewing until I shut it down. I have to cut away the material to get the piece back out of the machine and then unscrew the plate to clear out the mess underneath. I'm left with a huge tangle of upper thread tangled around the feed dogs and bobbin case. Wh…

  17. Hi all. Hope someone can advise. I have recently purchase a 10 needle brother embroidery machine (1050x) and have been figuring out how to do things on it. Complete beginner by the way. I thought i would check the embroidery thread tension and according to the manual the were too loose. I have slowly set them up and want some experienced opinions as i have some of the tension dials on the second to last line and the pre tensioners at half way. I was worried that this was too much and would cause unnecessary wear. Do these thread runs look ok. Thanks

  19. I bought Janome 15000 on Monday. The bobbin threads differently but the area is basically the same, just that you can wind the thread around and cut it and it stays put - no more tails to get in your way. You can still have things go the same way for gathering and if that is your choice. I haven't tried the embroidery yet, but have hooked up to WiFi and it recognizes my iPad, but I'll need time to play with that before I can report back on it's usefulness, from my point of view. It is a wee bit bigger than the 12000, but not substantially - the hoops are the same and you get 5 as well as many, many feet. There is also a lovely storage box, soft sided with a zipper and in…

  21. Hi All, I have a Brother BES-1216AC that works just perfectly in flat hoop mode. However, when it's off, then switched into Cap mode, it starts up make a small amount of movements and then starts beeping and only says "OVERTRAVEL" on the screen and you can't get it to do anything else. Happens regardless of whether or not the actual cap mount is installed. Any ideas as to why this may be happening? Thanks!

  22. Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right subform to be posting in, I received my machine today and I've been struggling to thread the needle ( Unless the way im doing it is right )., I'm following the steps 1-8 with the thread when I get to step 6 on the 1150e the thread likes to slip out very easily, when I do finally get it to stay in place and get to step 7 than 8 to cut the extras and press down the threading slider it dosen't thread, now if from step 6 I go around the BACK of the needle in to step 7 an 8 an press down the threading slider it threads but than after a few stitches my thread will snap. I've been googling and googling for answers but I can't find …

  23. I am a store owner who is wanting to add embroidery to my list of services and products. I have an opportunity to purchase a Brother Entrepreneur Pro pr1000e from a friend who took very good care of it. She wants $5000 with stand, hoops, accessories etc. Its 8 years old and I wanted to know if anyone has any experience using this and if it is worth it?

  24. Hello, I hope this is not a stupid question but I am having a difficult time finding out how I can document the "on time" of my 6 head Tajima or if there is a way to see the total stitches sewn on this machine? On other machines I have owned in the past they had a way to check total on time, and total z motor on time? Could anyone give me any suggestions as to how I might find this out? I can not find anything in the manual? Thanks for any help you might offer! Have a great day!

  25. Hi-- I just upgraded from an old Janome MemoryCraft 300e to a new 400e. While the new features are incredible, I'm having a very frustrating issue where the new machine doesn't seem to be reading my .JEF files the same way my old one did. It's leaving unfilled areas, lines, and gaps everywhere, and in one instance traced out the area for a satin stitch, made like it was filling, but then just left the space empty. I can't figure out what's causing it. These are all .JEF files I used with the old machine dozens of times without issue, hooped the same way I always have. As far as I can tell there's no issues with the hoop calibration, the bobbin, thread tension, or an…
